On Your Marks

I am from Lusaka, Zambia. A little over a week ago, we had 2 cases of COVID-19, today we have 36. Calculatorsoup.com told me that is a 1700% increase. (If seeing the Pandemic’s name is tempting you to click away from this post because it is all negativity in the news right now and that is the last thing you want to hear, I completely understand.) BUT This is not a case study though. It is not an update of the cases.

I just want to wish you all well. First, here are 3 little reminders…

  1. Wash your hands, OH MY WORD!
  2. Stay home
  3. WASH YOUR HANDS AGAIN

During this down time, I want to encourage each and every one of us to work (Not the most fun thing in the world, I know). But I encourage you to plan, to ensure that you are ready for the world when all this blows over. Zambians, I do not know when, but I want you to be so prepared that when the last recovery case has been announced and outside finally stops being a health hazard, all you need to do is start running.

There was a large chunk of my life where inactivity reigned. There was nothing going on, I was always bored. I could not find anything to do. However, when things became insanely busy, that was when I had all my ideas flooding in as the time seemed right to start implementing them. I was trying to balance my new chaotic life with what I wanted my future to be. Now imagine how easy life would have been if I had a plan in place? If I was so ready that all I needed was execution?

Do not take downtime for granted.

Gain momentum during the quiet because when things start to speed up, they will need all of you.

Stay safe out there. We are literally living in the days that case studies would describe in history textbooks we read in high school.

Remember this though, God is faithful even now. Psalm 91 is our anthem during this time.

Assist His faithfulness by WASHING YOUR HANDS AND STAYING HOME!
