In our saddest moments, we are in so much doubt about the good that happened before it. Were we really happy? Was it truly an experience? Were those honestly the “good times”?
This thought makes us doubt and judge our next steps. It makes us prone to living in a constant space of discomfort not knowing when the happiness will end and fill our heads with the same pain and doubt we felt before.
So, what do I say to that?
I say… “Great!”.
If it made me smile, Great!
If it made me laugh, Great!
If I had the best time, Great!
If it was a memory I never want to forget, Great!
Even in the worst of times, you still had great times leading up to it. Whichever way they end, never take your moments of happiness for granted. Whether fake or not, you smiled/laughed and dreamt real dreams at that moment. And for that, we continue to live. Chasing and choosing the highest points in our lives over the lowest. All the time.
