Go for It!

I like thinking things through.

I like it so much that I think more than I DO what I am thinking about.

When you are as indecisive as me, spontaneity is scary. I find it to be a mess of doing things just because of how it feels in the moment.

But hey, overthinking is inevitable.

The world has so many possibilities and yet so many ways to fail as well.

No matter how new and fresh your ideas are, or no matter how “different you will be this time” when handling life, there is still A) someone that has already done it. B) someone that is better than you at doing it.

However, one thing to take note of is that NO ONE IS YOU!

If I can use shoes as an example, I am a size 6. But that does not mean that every size 6 shoe will fit me. There are times where I have been a size 5 in pumps or a size 7 in heels. The point is, you can be the SAME person but the environment you find yourself in may need you to look at other ways of fitting in.

It is nerve-wracking to take on challenges.

Technology and other advancements have made life seem so easy to hack because of all the opportunities brought to our computer screens and or doorsteps. You just have to work hard, work smart and wait for your big break!

Investing time into the process of how things are to work out is good. But doing all that planning just to have numerous Microsoft Word Documents open on your password-secured laptop will not take you anywhere.

Remember in PE when summer just started but the swimming pool water did not get the memo from winter? Your teacher would tell you to “Just jump in”. It was cold at first, and your body went into straight shock, but as you got the hang of things, jumping in and facing the shock was much easier than inching in – limb by limb.

The point of this message is to encourage you (and myself) to just go for it.

The shock gets to everyone. Good or bad. We are tailored to accommodate risk.

Brooding over how sensitive you may be or how difficult it was for you to bounce back from something that happened years ago will not make it any easier today. You learned from that. But if a new shock comes your way. Go for it.

“You do not know what I have been through!”.

No, I do not. But if you are reading this right now, it means that you are here. Which means that what happened did not kill you!

Go for it and be the difference- because even if someone is already doing that you want to do or if someone is doing it better than you…. No one will ever be you!
