If there is one thing I can’t stand… It is NOT knowing what to do. If I am given a task and I can’t do it after my third attempt or I can’t seem to do it to the standard of perfection I have set for myself, then it isn’t worth doing.
“That’s the wrong attitude”
I know.
Have you ever seen a baby learn to walk and then eventually start running around the place? Soon after you see them lose balance and do that little fall thing where they are not necessarily standing anymore… But they are not on the ground either… I will find a picture to illustrate. Anyway, they just push their bodies up from the ground and continue running.
It isn’t great running, but they get to where they are going to no matter how many times they lose their balance.
When someone talks about taking baby steps, it does not restrict you to walking slowly until you achieve your goal, it could also mean resilience. It could mean control. It could mean persistence.
It could mean being so excited and carefree on your journey that the bruises and scrapes go unnoticed. All you are doing is stumbling. But moving. You could even roll over the finish line, as long as you get there.
So as the week begins, take your baby steps differently. Have fun. Laugh. Pray. Play. And move.
