Today someone important had the roads blocked for him/her. We all stopped from going on about our business until that person passed successfully. We weren’t given a detour, nope. We were stopped wherever we were. People would pull over to the sides of the road… Traffic lights were ignored as road traffic officials were scattered around the street. All that jazz.
Our appointments didn’t matter, our health didn’t matter… We all had to stop.
As I waited in the car watching the empty road, I couldn’t help but think of how submissive we all were. We All parked and waited for the convoy to drive past.
This happened on a long stretch of road, and I was towards the end of the road but was still stopped. And for sure the road traffic officer was not giving us a time-frame of when the convoy would pass by. We all just waited. Forsaking all we had to do as authority progressed..
Any impatient moves would land you in trouble with the law. And my current budget cannot afford that right now. If you got even a bit rowdy, They could mistake you as a threat and you’d be harmed… Or worse.
How much authority do we give God in our lives? Do we stop all our activities and our worries just to wait for Him to intercede? Are our impatient and impulsive actions what lead us to the troubled lives we are living? How long do we wait on God? We know His timing is soon, but when? We know His timing is good for us.. But how long do we wait until we can get back on the road and continue our daily lives?
Why do we wait on man easier than we wait on God?
If that convoy decided to change its route, and the officer blocking my way was informed late.. I would still wait. I can’t lie, I would still wait. So why can’t we wait on God? The authority over all authority? I didn’t see the convoy, but I knew it was on its way. I didn’t know how long it would take, but I waited patiently.
This is just food for thought 😊
Moral of the story… Wait on God, like your life depended on it… Because it does.
