Wilting While You Work

Have you ever cried whilst typing an email?

“I hope this email finds you well…”

*Tear drop*

“Kindly revert”

*Break to sob uncontrollably for a second*

This whole “Life Has To Go On thing” is the hardest part to endure in the growth phase of your life.

In our mid-twenties, we are trying to establish ourselves. We can pray for good health and prosperity but that doesn’t stop life from life-ing.

We break in a different way everyday. But that doesn’t mean that the report won’t be due that day. Or that your customer will wait a little longer while you put yourself together.

I took leave off of my day job when my mother died a few weeks ago. I still got calls from stakeholders that pay for a service at my company. They didn’t know what was going on. They wanted their data that they paid for. I couldn’t blame them.

This doesn’t mean that you should totally disregard all your emotions and feelings because of your day job. But it does get easier to “time” them. Hold it together in that meeting. Break down when sending emails.

It is a process after all. Take all the time you need. Flowers grow when you water them, so let the tears flow. Wilt while you work, your tears are seen and invested into the beautiful flower you’ll grow into in due time.
