Tribute: What Happened?

“You’re driving too fast again.” my sister said.

Before I could even acknowledge what she meant, the car was in the sky. We were in the air for a millisecond. Hearing the crunch of the metal after we hit the ground again.

We were faster than sound.

We got to the hospital to see why we were called, and as soon as I stepped out, my legs started to shake. I didn’t know why, but they did. They had no reason to. She was okay.

That’s what everyone said that morning.

I paced with my ear to the phone waiting for the tone that was interrupted by a woman’s voice telling me to try again later.

Then I heard the screams.

My chest was numb as my only defense mechanism took over. Rage surged through my veins.

“Don’t touch me.”

“Leave me alone.”

What happened?

The aneurysm was twice as large as it was supposed to be.

But she had time.

“It’s not like she will die tomorrow, but the operation has to be done. She is a healthy person. She is not in serious condition. But the heart is. We will find a doctor on Monday. But she is fine.” the doctor said on Thursday. He said the same thing on Friday.

So, what happened on Saturday?

I don’t know.

That’s not what people wanted to hear. That’s not what I want to hear.
